About Bubbling Springs Solar

Your local source for glazed, flat-plate liquid solar thermal collectors

Bubbling Springs Solar is a family owned and operated business located in rural, West-Central Wisconsin--about 60 miles from St. Paul, Minnesota. We are committed to helping our customers conserve valuable resources, both financial and environmental, by making solar thermal energy more available and affordable. By purchasing our locally made product, you not only support the local economy, you will likely enjoy a lower price than buying imported collectors.

Our mission

Our mission at Bubbling Springs Solar is to maximize the use of solar technologies in our region by providing a local, reliable source for high quality products, information and services to people and businesses interested in reducing their impact on the environment.

Our commitment to sustainable practices

At Bubbling Springs Solar, we are committed to not only providing a product which reduces carbon emissions that are a consequence of conventional energy, but also to ensuring that the materials within our collectors serve this very purpose as well:

  • Locally sourced materials are a priority; the components we purchase come from the U.S. and Canada.
  • Cradle-to-grave durability, affordability, and environmental costs are all considered when choosing materials for our collectors.
  • We purchase all our electricity from wind turbines in the Midwest.
  • Our phone company is a local co-op. We are members of a local whole foods cooperative. We bank at a locally owned and operated credit union.
  • Bubbling Springs Solar uses long-lasting compressed fiberglass instead of a less eco-friendly foam product for insulation: safer and more durable.
  • We use recycled paper products and we recycle waste paper conscientiously. Packaging materials are reused; large paper interleafing is donated to local kid groups.
  • Many employees including our president commute to work by bicycle most of the year. We also have a shop bike for errands and a unicycle just for fun.
  • Lunch scraps, brown towels and coffee grounds are composted and become garden soil.
