The MS-32

The MS-32 collector is about 4ft x 8 ft (exactly 32.02 sq. ft.) and weighs 99 pounds. It has a volumetric fluid capacity of 2.2 liters and has been rated with the following BTU/day:

• Sunny: 30,000 BTU/day
• Moderately cloudy: 20,000 BTU/day
• Cloudy: 10,000 BTU/day

The MS-40

The MS-40 collector is about 4ft x 10ft (exactly 39.93 sq. ft) and weighs 124 pounds. It has a volumetric fluid capacity of 2.8 liters and has been rated with the following BTU/day:

• Sunny: 37,000 BTU/day
• Moderately cloudy: 25,000 BTU/day
• Cloudy: 13,000 BTU/day

Other information

Both the MS-32 and MS-40 collectors are available with either 3/4 inch or 1 inch headers; all come with a 15-year warranty. The side frame and backing material is made of aluminium fastened with aluminium rivets, the capping strip is aluminium fastened with steel screws. The insulation is comprised of 1-inch compressed fiberglass at the back and sides with an R-value of 4.3.

The absorber is a fin tube type with a copper waterway and aluminium fins coated with a selective absorptive paint. The solar glass is a 1/8 inch thick low-iron tempered glass sheet with a transmittance of 91.0%.
